three Q's to the calendar sync.

1. there is the error msg of a common fault "can't sync yearly relative recurring calendar dates" which is quite inacceptable.
Do you really suggest to delete those entries or manually selecting them non-reacurring ???
2. I miss some entries in my calendar - is the sync stopping after the error msg above ???
3. I have two calendars, DESKTOP and STANDARD.
How can I delete one? There are always BOTH shown. After restarting calendar, my setting is not remembered!
We only need ONE calendar.

Sincerely

Hello

1) Unfortunately there are problems with the J2ME platform and the OS which means relative reoccurring events cannot be synced reliably. When we come across this we simply skip the item.

2) When the error occurs about the relative recurring event, the sync process should continue. If you still finding items are not coming through then I would suggest you do the following:

-Uncheck the option to sync calendars. You will get a prompt about deleting data on the device. Select 'Delete Device Items'.

-Once this is done go into Options > Diagnostics Settings. Select the option 'Enable Diagnostics'. Save the change

-Go back and reselect the option to sync the calendar. Once this completes and you have most of your data on the phone go and turn off the Diagnostics options.

The diagnostics writes a log directly to our server. Once you have done this let us know and we will review the log.

3) Where do you see two calendars? On the BlackBerry device?

Regards

Hello Technik,

We're glad updating the firmware worked out for you. Unfortunately, not every blackberry has a 5.0 update out just yet. We're hoping the OS will fix itself as they fix the problems that lie within the OS.

calendar > options > shows 2 calendars, I am pretty confused why there appear TWO calendars:
DESKTOP
STANDARD

Any idea how to delete the standard calendar?? Is it profile based??

Technik,

Remove “[CICAL]” service books from the device’s configuration.
Go to Options-->Advanced Options-->Service Books, and uncheck or remove all listings which end in “[CICAL]”

Each calendar should have a corresponding service book. On my device I have one calendar that is the default and one from the Blackberry email account provided with the BIS service.

Regards,

John
