Hello,

I just upgraded one of my users to a new Blackberry 9000 (v4.6.0.167) and the latest AstraSync (v4.0.16). It's seems to be working except that changes to appointments do not sync from the Bb back to Exchange (2003). The log shows a warning that simply states that the change is not synchronized with the server.

The steps to replicate are to create an appointment in Outlook, force a sync, make a change on the Bb (I change the time), force another sync. The Bb has the changes, but Outlook does not and there is a warning in the log.

Thanks,
- Mike

Hello Mike,

Have you enabled 'Synchronize meeting attendees' in AstraSync Options > Calendar Settings?

AstraSync will not sync device changes to events with attendees.

Do the events in question have attendees listed?

If not, then it is likely that the email address you entered during the AstraSync registration process was different to the email address you are syncing against. If this is the case.
Either change the email address, this may require a fresh install or will simply be a forced restart if your copy of AstraSync is registered.
Or disable attendee syncing in the Options.

Ranald.

Hello jenan,

AstraSync does not send meeting invitations. An installed BIS account does this if the CICAL book has not been removed.

Please see this post for details:

Hi Ranald,

"Synchronize meeting attendees" is not selected and the events in question do not have attendees.

I had him log in to his account on your web site to look at the details of his subscription. The user name and domain listed there are correct.

Also, I can create a new appointment on the Bb and it will sync over to Exchange. I can even edit that appointment on the Bb and it will sync the changes over to Exchange. However, if I edit that appointment in Outlook, any changes made on the Bb after that do not sync over to Exchange.

Thanks,
- Mike

jenan,

Meeting attendees are synchronisable so that attendees can be made visible on the device.

However we do not advise this, which is why the setting is off by default and has the associate knowledge base article.

Hi Mike,

I have been unable to reproduce the problem you are experiencing

I created an event on the device, synced it to the server, made changes on the server and the device and it synced correctly.
I then edited that same event in Outlook and this change synced successfully to the device. A further change to that event on the device synced successfully to the server and to Outlook.

In order to further diagnose this problem I will need to have AstraSync Support contact you to capture the data being transmitted between the device and the server.

As this is not your device, please let me know whether you will be able to work with AstraSync Support.

If so, they will contact you by email.

Thank you,

Ranald.

I now experience the same is as stated above.
An existing calender item in BB is correctly synchronized with our hosted exchange server (we use Kerio).
When I change the item on the BB device, the change is not synched to the server. The item has no meeting attendees.

So my question: what was the issue and how was it resolved?

Hello,

Go into AstraSync > Options > Calendar Settings > Scroll to the borrom of the page, what Calendar is AstraSync currently syncing to? If you click on the drop down box there, does it list anything else?
